How We're Responding to COVID-19


Face Covering Requirement by VA EO-63


All customers are required to wear a face covering while shopping in our store as required by VA EO-63. Our employees will also be required to wear a face covering as required by VA EO-63. We can all do our part to keep our community safe.


Shopping Inside


Please keep a distance of at least six-feet from another person to help promote social distancing while shopping. We strongly encourage you to shop solo with only 1-person from your family coming inside during your visit. This will help practice safer social distancing while shopping. All customers are required to wear a face covering the entire time while shopping in our store as required by VA EO-63.


At Checkout


Contactless payment methods have been installed at checkout to reduce the need of physical contact with cashiers. This includes the use of Tap-to-Pay enabled cards, Apple Pay, Android Pay, & Google Pay. We will also allow you to choose if you would like a receipt or not at the end of your transaction to even further reduce the need for any physical contact with our cashiers and to help promote social distancing.

No reusable bags should be used at checkout for the safety of yourself and our employees. While we love going our part for the planet, please leave your reusable shopping bags at home. All groceries must be packed in store-provided paper or plastic.


Operations


Our store will strive for operating normal business hours - we know how vital our location is to the community, but should we need to adjust our operating hours it will be posted on our Facebook page as-well-as being available on local news websites at WSLS10 and WDBJ7.

Here at Valley Supermarket IGA we are taking every action possible to provide you with a safe and reliable place to shop - today and every day. Here are some things were doing in response to COVID-19.



SAFETY

  • Our associates receive ongoing train in sanitation, food safety, and disease prevention protocol, and there will be increased cleaning of the entire store - especially high-tough area - during any virus outbreak.
  • We will provide as many sanitation stations as possible throughout the store.
  • Associates are instructed to stay home if they or someone in their household is sick.


AVAILABILITY

We are working constantly with out suppliers to replenish high-demand products as quickly as possible, and in some cases, placing limits on the amount of products purchased to ensure our community is prepared and protected.

PRICING

We will never take advantage of our communities during a time of crisis or otherwise. While the cost of doing business may go up as labor and product demand increases, we promise to maintain the same profit margin going forward and keep prices as low as possible.
